Thanks, Jeff. This piece is actually an unused tabletop. It's about 5/8" thick and 36" in diameter. It is MDF or Masonite under a mahogany veneer. I just roughed up the surface and primed it with gesso. Worked great. I'll be using z-bars to hang it.

As far as getting a table top to paint on - I got this one at a garage sale. I bet you could find some at furniture auction houses for a good price, too.

Thanks for the compliment - good luck on the hunt... let me know where you find some panels!

Nice work. Enjoying the blog.

I was wondering where you get these circular wood panels from? I use artboards but they're a little hard to come by.

Thanks!

Hi Kim - truly I wasn't trying to wait another year to reply! I actually used 's' hooks in that photo. Now, I have fabric covered panels and I use drapery hooks; they work great and you can use multiples when you have heavier pieces to hang. Plus, they give you a little more freedom of placement on your panels. Hope that helps - best of luck to you!

Hi Jason, this post is over a year old, but I like your tent set up and was wondering what you used to hang your paintings on. I am in the process of setting up for my first art show. Thanks. Kim
